The VMNH congratulates Mark on being the 2000 recipient of the Explorer's Club Millennium Award for Services to Explorations in Zoology! Also honored with a Millennium Award was Apollo astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Good on ya, Mark!
O'Shea's Big Adventure

Mark O'Shea's televised episodes of field herpetology have been renewed for a second season and are now being aired in the U.S. on Animal Planet at 7pm on Sunday nights. The new season finds Mark and his colleagues looking for rare and exotic species in Australia and New Guinea. 

 

Joining Mark in Papua New Guinea is Virtual Museum of Natural History Director Robert Sprackland (far left), seen here with Mark while waiting to board the boats to cross the Torres Strait. Their episode premiered on Sunday, November 12th 2000. Other herpetologists to appear with Mark in the new season are Chris Austin, Aaron Bauer, and John Weigel.
